I just bought my ticket to Merida, Mexico where I’ll be taking a volunteer vacation from 28 Jan to 1 Apr 2015.

I’ll be working on an environmental program of some sort for 6 weeks and then spending 2 weeks traveling as I decide.
That will definitely include seeing the Serpent’s Shadow on the Castillo stairs in Chichén Itzá on the Vernal Equinox.

I’ve learned that the plaza is packed with people bused in from Cancun and Cozumel and the like on the Equinox but if one goes the next day it is empty.
